Mama Moon was built differently.
From the very beginning, I wanted to create a business that honored the same rhythms I was learning from the earth. My herbal apothecary has always been intentionally small batch—not because I couldn't make more, but because I never wanted to take more than I needed. Every product is made with care, using herbs harvested thoughtfully and in quantities that respect the ecosystems they come from - most of the time that is my small backyard garden. Growth has never been the goal for its own sake; integrity has.
The same philosophy shaped our Airbnb spaces. Every guest who stays with us is welcomed into something we created with our own hands—from restoring spaces to tending gardens to creating quiet places where people can reconnect with themselves and the natural world. Those experiences weren't designed by a marketing team. They were created through years of thoughtful work, countless small decisions, and genuine hospitality.
Nearly every opportunity we've received has come through relationships. One conversation. One guest. One recommendation. One returning customer who trusted us enough to tell someone else. That kind of growth can't be rushed.
Trust is built over time. Community is built through consistency. Real connection happens person to person, not algorithm to algorithm.
I've spent much of my career in communications and marketing, and I've learned that while digital tools are incredibly valuable, the strongest brands are still built the same way they've always been: by showing up, doing meaningful work, and caring deeply for the people you serve.
Mama Moon has never been about becoming the biggest. It's about creating something honest enough that people want to come back—and meaningful enough that they invite others to experience it too.
For me, that's what purpose-driven business looks like: growing at the pace of the earth, building relationships that last, and leaving every place and every person just a little better than I found them.
